NOTE: THESE SENTENCES AWNSER QUESTIONS, LOOKING AT THEM WITHOUT KNOWING THE QUESTION FIRST WILL CONFUSE YOU. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
FINAL REFLECTION
During the many rounds of peer critique may soundscape changed in a couple of ways. First, I added a train and replaced the 80's synth with a piano more fitting of the time period. I also quieted down the gunshots because that wasn't what the holocaust was about.
I preferred whole class critique because I got to hear the people tell the critique to my face, that way I could understand them better.
One thing I know now that I didn't before is how you can take a picture and turn it into sound. I also learned that there is such thing as too many tracks.
One thing I would change about the project is the timing. It was really annoying how we had to go to the high school half the time.
I think the 6-8 collaboration is an awesome idea! It was really cool being able to work with kids who are above or below your grade. It was interesting seeing how their soundscapes varied between grade levels.
Week 5/12
One things I will change in my sound plot will be to make Churchill sound even louder. I'm not sure how yet, but I'll try.
Listening to other students soundscapes (And this is going to make me sound like a huge jerk) made me feel a lot more confident that I was paying respect to the children. At first I was wondering If i was symbolizing enough, but as soon as the first sound plot started (Which happened to just be a bunch of gunshots and rock n' roll music) I knew at least I wasn't the worst.
The last question I have about my sound plot is, "How do I make churchill lou
Week 5/6
Music shapes my life in very few ways. I used to play a violin, but not anymore. I used to play a keyboard, but not anymore. Music did help someone hate me: I was better at violin than him. That's it really it.
One skill I have that is a passion is building with legos, I started when i was two, spent more than 2,000 dollars on it, as well as 75% of my time years 2-8. Now THAT's a passion.
Alice was optimistic during her time at the ghetto because the only focused on the fact that she got to play music. Nothing else phased her.
The quote "I am looking for the nice things in life. I know about the bad things, but I look only for the good things" means that alice only focuses on positive things in life. To me, this quote is about being prepared for the worst, but focusing on the best.
